Video: Educational Leadership for Professors and Associate Professors
The CED’s course on educational leadership helps teaching staff who, without any formal managerial responsibility, coordinate and develop education and teaching.
The course in educational leadership focuses on the members of academic staff who, in addition to their own teaching, also have a special organisational responsibility for coordinating and developing education and teaching – a ‘dual role’ without any formal managerial responsibility.
No director titles needed
The overall purpose of the course is to offer knowledge about the role of both colleague and coordinator without a managerial title. Among other things, you will learn to address the particular dilemmas and expectations in relation to such a dual role.
“I first heard about the course in educational leadership through my director of studies. My initial reaction to the title of the course was that this was not really something that I had anything to do with because I am just a course coordinator. Later, I learned that the concept of ‘educational leadership’ can unfold in many different ways," former course participant, and Teaching Associate Professor at the Department of Dentistry and Oral Health, Søren Læssøe Mathiesen says.
“I have learned a lot from the course. Among other things, I have gained a deeper understanding of the concept of ‘educational leadership' and gained practical knowledge that can help me in my work,” he explains.
