Introduction to Mentimeter for University Educators

This course provides a practical introduction to Mentimeter – an interactive tool for engaging students through live polls, quizzes, and visual presentations.
You will learn how to create questions, use different interaction formats, and integrate Mentimeter into your teaching to enhance participation and feedback. The course is hands-on and requires no prior experience.

Learning outcome

  • Equip educators with the basic knowledge required to create engaging interactive sessions using Mentimeter, without needing prior experience
  • Enable educators to apply learned techniques from Mentimeter to real classroom scenarios, fostering interactive learning environments that encourage student participation
  • Encourage educators to evaluate the effectiveness of various interactive techniques and formats provided by Mentimeter. This involves identifying what works best in different educational settings and how to refine these strategies to enhance student engagement and feedback.

  • Navigation: Walkthrough of the Mentimeter interface.
  • Creating Content: Demonstration of how to set up a presentation.
  • Question Types: Explore open-ended, multiple-choice, ranking, and other formats.

0:20 – 0:35 | Hands-On Practice

Participants create their own Mentimeter questions.

  • Experiment with different interactive formats.
  • Quick troubleshooting tips for common technical issues.·

0:35 – 0:50 | Integration into Teaching

  • How to embed Mentimeter in lectures and course materials.
  • Strategies for using Mentimeter to gather feedback and foster participation.
