Book a classroom

You can book the CED’s technology-enhanced classroom, which is full of modern technology and flexible design options.

You can book the CED’s technology-enhanced classroom, in building 1910 room 228, which is filled with modern technology and flexible layout options. Among other things, you can record lecture captures, live stream, or conduct hybrid teaching.

The educational possibilities are plentiful and all teaching staff at AU are very welcome to book the classroom.

Flexible classroom filled with technology

Flexibility has been a keyword for the choice of interior and technology in the room. The interior is on wheels and the room’s technology can easily be adjusted to support a range of different educational needs and teaching formats.

Remote-controlled cameras and microphones are mounted in the room’s ceiling. An 85" touchscreen and a classic whiteboard with a projector are installed in the back of the room. Students can be activated during the teaching with throwable microphones, or they can screencast from their own devices onto one of the room’s fixed or portable screens.

You can also present physical objects to the whole class at the same time. A camera films an illuminated surface on the main desk, and the output image can be sent directly to the screens in the room.

A room for different teaching formats

The classroom supports both conventional and digital and experimental teaching formats. The CED is at your service and offer technical and educational consultancy, support, and help with the teaching formats that the room supports.

Lecture capturing

With lecture capturing, the teaching is recorded and subsequently made available online. In this way, the students can access the teaching irrespective of time and place – it can be in connection with the exam preparations, as a quick brush-up before the next lesson, or for further help when they are doing assignments individually or in groups.

In our classroom, we can switch between six different camera angles, zoom, and add an intro and an outro during post-production to create a professional and dynamic video, which can be used over and over.

Hybrid teaching

The classroom is big enough to support hybrid teaching where some students follow along online while others are present. There is room for 40 people in the classroom.

The classroom is designed to ensure smooth support of this teaching format.

Live streaming

Live streaming can facilitate diverse types of distance teaching. During the stream, you can allow students following online to ask questions via, for example, chat, email, text messaging, or Mentimeter. The best questions can be picked and answered in the concluding part of the lesson.

We take care of all the technical aspects and ensure proper sound, as well as live-edit the stream by cutting between different camera angles to achieve a professional and dynamic video stream.

The classroom is used, among other things, for live streaming of lectures to the upper secondary schools, which you can see here:
