Online workshop about teaching portfolio for all teaching staff at AU
The Centre for Educational Development (CED) is supporting the organisational implementation of the teaching portfolio, which will be used at the annual staff development dialogues (SDD). Therefore, on Wednesday 25 October from 14:30-15:30 all teaching staff at AU can participate in an online workshop focused on optimising the teaching portfolio.
A dedicated CED team will be ready to answer your questions, help you gain insights, and receive valuable feedback on your portfolio.
At the workshop you will:
- get an introduction to the Danish framework for advancing university pedagogy, and
- be working with your own portfolio and receive advice from the CED facilitators.
We hope you will join us for an informative and inspiring hour.
- Sign up for the workshop here (registration deadline: 20 October 12:00 noon).
You will receive a Zoom link in your confirmation email when you sign up.
The workshop is held in English.
For any inquiries or further information, do not hesitate to reach out to pedagogics consultant at CED Simon Raaby Holmgaard Poulsen at srhp@au.dk or (+45) 93 52 28 08.
About the teaching portfolio
Aarhus University aspires to be an attractive university for students and staff alike with excellent degree programmes and engaging teaching. An element of this aspiration is individualised pedagogical competence development for all teaching staff.
The senior management team at AU has discussed how to combine the ambitions of excellent degree programmes with the requirements established in the employment structure for Danish higher education.
On this basis, it has been decided that teachers at AU must use the Danish Framework for Advancing University Pedagogy to describe their competencies in a teaching portfolio. All teaching staff must regularly – and at least once a year – create and maintain a teaching portfolio and discuss their teaching competencies with their immediate superior.
The teaching portfolio will be used during the annual staff development dialogues (SDD) or group development dialogues (GDD). At these dialogues, it will be discussed how the faculty members’ teaching competencies can be maintained and developed before the next discussion.
