After-hours meeting: Accessible learning environments

On Monday 7 October 2024 at 15:00, the Centre for Educational Development invites you to an after-hours meeting on accessible learning environments. At the meeting, we will present tools and methods for creating teaching that meets the needs of all students. The event will be held in Danish.

At the after-hours meeting, you will gain insights into how you can contribute to creating learning environments where all students have equal opportunities to participate and learn.

We will present current figures and statistics on this topic and introduce both pedagogical and didactic strategies to foster a more accessible learning environment.

The goal is to develop a deeper understanding of how to create learning environments where all students have equal opportunities to participate and learn.

Programme

  • 15.00-15.10: Welcome and introduction
    Coffee and cake will be provided.
     
  • 15.10-15. 25: An overview - National and local trends in the field
    Current trends and statistics on students with disabilities in higher education.
     
  • 15.25-15.45: What support measures are essential for students with learning difficulties?
    A presentation of the key factors affecting students with learning challenges and how we can support them.
     
  • 15.45-16.00: Break
    Time for networking and informal chats.
     
  • 16.00-16.30: How can we create accessible learning environments individually and collectively?
    Practical examples and strategies to promote accessibility.

Pedagogics Consultant Simon Jensby will run the after-hours meeting. In his daily work, he primarily works with transitions in the educational system from upper secondary education to university, with a particular focus on student well-being. Previously, he has taught at the upper secondary school level, worked as an independent high-performance consultant and mental coach, and has also been part of Team Denmark’s development network.
