Research

I am interested in universities as organisations and institutions in society and how they frame activities such as research and education. I do research on leadership of and in universities, and how leaders act as translators and mediators of important political agendas, for example in the form of reforms of education or research.
Another interest is how research is practised responsibly, and how research environments and researchers understand and relate to integrity and ethics.
Most recently, I have been very interested in research funding and how the strategies and practices of different actors (public and private foundations) affect the research system.

Teaching activities

I teach the AU BSS PhD course in research integrity, which is a fixed and mandatory part of the PhD programme at the faculty.

In addition, I teach subjects such as organisational sociology, leadership and governance in the education and research system, organisational and institutional theory, both at the Department of Political Science and at DPU, and supervise masters students in the same subjects.

Collaborations

I collaborate with international colleagues in e.g. Norway and the Netherlands on larger research projects, for example focusing on international comparisons of research and educational reforms or organisation.

In addition, I have a wide range of collaborations with national actors within the research and education policy system, such as private and public foundations, as well as ministries and agencies.

Consultancy

Regularly, I participate in research-based public sector consultancy, as well as research-based evaluations, studies or memos for e.g. the Danish National Research Foundation, the VILLUM Foundation, the Carsberg Foundation, and other organisations.

I also often participate in internal analyses for other departments or faculties at AU within my research areas.
