Teaching@AU – an introduction to the Danish university education system

Objective

The objective of the online self-paced course is to familiarize new international teaching staff with the background, rules and regulations that are behind the Danish education system. 

Learning outcome

  • Be able to use the web resources containing course information regarding i.e. rules and regulations for the course description, grading and assessment at AU.
  • Become familiar with differences in Danish culture and student learning.

Content

The content is based on 5 themes

  1. Background and structure of the Danish education system
  2. Rules and regulations
  3. Final assessments and ECTS
  4. Grading structure
  5. Meeting your students

There is a pre-course quiz to test prior knowledge and a post-course quiz to follow up on what knowledge has been gained and what is still missing. Integral to each theme there are activities that should be completed by the participant. A certificate can be awarded on completion of the course.
