This workshop is for you if you wish to make your lectures or oral presentations more varied, vibrant and engaging for the students.

Learning outcome

After this workshop the participants can:

  • Use different engaging rhetorical means for lecturing/oral presentation
  • Reflect upon how own lecturing/oral presentation practice kan be developed or innovated

Content

The content of the workshop is partly generated by the participants’ wishes within themes such as presentation purpose, choosing content, using examples, using visual aids, metacommunication, the lecturer’s voice and body.

About the Danish framework for advancing university pedagogy

The workshop reflects the part of the Danish framework for advancing university pedagogy about Teaching at level 3, which states:

The faculty memeber:

  • masters a broad spectrum of teaching and thesis supervision practices
  • can develop, innovate and experiment with teaching and supervisory practices

Lecturing is understood as one of many teaching practices, and the intent of this workshop is to contribute to participants developing their lecturing/oral presentation practice.

Prerequisites for participation

Participants must have experience with lecturing/oral presentations.

  • Language: English unless all participants speak and understand Danish.
  • Duration: 3 hours (there is no preparatory work)
  • Venue: Follows.
  • No. of participants: Min. 8, max. 25
  • Prerequisites: Participants must have experience with lecturing/oral presentations.
  • Course certificate: Upon satisfactory completion.
