NAT and TECH: Brightspace Course Designer


The main purpose of the workshop is to assist educators in developing and implementing a course page design informed by pedagogical theory, local cases, and peers.

Furthermore, the purpose of the workshop is to introduce to the aims and potential of technology in education as well as share experiences and relevant cases of Educational IT at Nat and Tech.

Learning outcome

  • to design student-centered teaching and learning which includes Brightspace and other Educational IT by means of Learning Design aids, models, and cases from AU
  • to explain and apply a Learning Design approach to educational development which includes Brightspace and other Educational IT
  • to discuss own experiences with Educational IT and provide recommendations to peers


The workshop consists of two parts of which the second part includes the actual implementation of the learning design in Brighspace (or other Educational IT). The part is optional. Pedagogical, technical, and media production support will be available, and it will be possible to arrange additional pedagogical supervision and support.

Additional info

Educators are encouraged to invite co-educators on their modules or study programme to participate in the workshop.

The workshop is also relevant for educators who wish to integrate other or additional educational technologies in their module.

Educators and other members of staff particularly interested in the technical features and functionalities of Brightspace are kindly referred to the Brightspace Basic workshops or the Brightspace Support.

  • Target group: Educators at Natural Sciences and Technical Sciences
  • Language: The workshop is held in either Danish or English as needed.
  • Duration: 3 hours + 3 hours (optional implementation) + preparation
  • Number of participants: Min. 8, max. 20
  • Bring: Smartphone or laptop
  • The workshop is targeted at educators, and it presupposes that the participants are currently teaching and have influence on the teaching's pedagogical organisation.
  • The workshop will be held at AU in Aarhus if it is allowed according to the restrictions then. Otherwise online.
  • There will be a light lunch for the participants who are also registered for the second part of the workshop.
